Biography: Asst. Prof. Dr. Pakpoom Buabthong is a multi-disciplinary researcher and academic leader currently serving as an Assistant Professor at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University (NRRU) and the Director of the Office of Lifelong Learning. He holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science with a minor in Computer Science from the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where he also earned his M.S.. His academic foundation began with a B.S. in Specialized Physics from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Dr. Pakpoom’s expertise bridges the gap between physical sciences and advanced computation. He is a prominent figure in the Thai AI ecosystem, serving as an Adjunct Professor at CMKL University and KMUTT, where he teaches courses on Generative AI and Recommendation Systems. His professional background includes a tenure as a Machine Learning Researcher at KBTG, focusing on Natural Language Processing (NLP). A prolific researcher, his work spans from high-impact materials science to cutting-edge AI applications in financial ontology and bacterial detection. Beyond academia, he is a sought-after speaker and consultant for major organizations, specializing in Agentic AI and process automation. He also contributes to national policy as a co-leader of the policy recommendation pillar in the Thai Young Scientist Academy.
